Does God Want Us To Be Happy?

YES!!!   Happy is that people whose God is the Lord. {Psalm 144:15}  Everything we have in life that makes us happy is from God:  love, marriage, sex, babies {Happy is the man that has a quiver full of them. Psalm 127:5}, food, pets, sunsets, beaches, lakes, trees, flowers, singing, laughter, friends, snow-covered mountains, full moons, eyes to see, ears to hear, mouths to kiss and taste, etc.  The list is endless!

It is often said that God doesn't care about happiness, only joy.  I am not sure there is much of a difference.  We want our children to be happy.  I don't think God is any different.  He hates divorce, fornication, adultery, lying, stealing, cheating, etc. because these all bring so much misery in the lives of those who commit them.  He gives us rules to follow so we will be happy. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. {Psalm 3:13}

God knows that the less we think about our selves and live to love and serve others, the happier we will be.  This is why one of His last acts on this earth was to get down on His knees and wash His disciples feet.  The happiest people are those who wipe other people's feet with their lives.

Positive creativity is conceived in the womb of joy and is almost non-existent in a depressed or dismal atmosphere.  God created humans to be happy.  Happiness and joy are a healing balm.  Joyfulness smiles away all the wrinkles on children's attitudes.  Children who rise up a little grumpy and meet a smiling mother are soon smiling with her. {To Train Up A Child}

Ryan and Cassi are very happy.  They are very much in love and can't wait to get married.  As long as they continue to remember that the joy of the Lord is their strength, they will be able to weather the storms that are sure to come their way and by always remembering that God is on His throne, He has prepared a mansion for them, and we are commanded to Rejoice in the Lord, always, again I say rejoice. {Philippians 4:4}
